There were a lot of guys who would punish you, but did it legally. At least legally by the rules back when they played. Lott, Hendricks, Harrison, Butkus Joe Greene, etc. But even in his day Conrad Dobler played dirty. Early in his career Suh was right there with Dobler. You don't see as much out of Suh lately. Suh should hav been expelled his rookie year,,

Conrad like the image, the biting was supposed to have happened when a hand was in his mouth at the bottom of the pile. Conrad wanted the hand out, so he bit?
Everywhere Conrad Dobler played, they were winners.

I worked with the Late Bill Brown Minnesota running back. Bill was an old school hard nose ball player had some great years 1500 plus yards total offense. So he had a lot of touches against these guys of this generation. Asked him who the biggest hitter was, he said Larry Wilson said he was a crazy and fast, Wilson weighed like 190. As for the dirtiest, He told me Raymond Ernest Nitschke, Said the guy was a really great ball player but was just a mean prick, called him the king of late hits. Also said he would bite you, and step on your hands. Ray is the guy that got into the fight with Minnesota QB Joe Kapp in a Minneapolis downtown bar. Bill said that they hated each other and would always start something. So the players on both teams were tired of it and did not jump and let the 2 of them beat the [bleep] out of each other. 2 guys $11,000 in damages this is 1970 money.
These are old school back in the day players, there are guys out there now looking to kill someone.

Well we're Green and we're Gold, and we play better when it's cold. All us Cheese heads have our favorite superstar. We love Brett Favre.

Reminds me - I gotta get a Nitschke jersey...

Hardy Brown In another interview, HB explained the 70+ players he knocked out, were unconscious when they left the game. In the same interview, the $500 bounty he referred to, he knocked 3 players out and told the opposing team that more would leave, if they didn't remove the bounty...... they called it off. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-netwo...Top-Ten-Most-Feared-Tacklers-Hardy-Brown

Ronny Lott wasn't dirty,he was just excellent at hitting, and hitting hard. He intimidated receivers running the inside routes to the point that they worked around him. I loved how intense he was.If you had the ball by him, you were going to get hit, and get hit hard.

Ted "the Stork" Hendricks, as well. Never thought Hendricks was dirty, now Lyle Alzedo was roid-rage kind of guy. George Akinson was pretty bad. The hit man. +1 Which one, fester. Jack Tatum

I am surprised nobody mentioned Ben Davidson. There is video of him diving at joe Namath's knees and he speared Len Dawson in the back while Dawson was already on the ground. And yes, he was a Raider.
