was shooting out back of the house today. my 260 FPS arrows were falling into the paper bowl that i nailed over the kill zone of my 3d target nicely. very nicely indeed, being able to keep 3/4 regurlary in the 4 1/2" circle. i was pleased. when i moved up to 40 and 30, it didnt even seen fair keeping all 4 with in about 2 1/2-3" of each other. nice!
any idea how much speed i would gain by switching from the whisker bisquit to a fall away?

Not enough to be worth f'kin' with a set-up that works....
Keep it; hunt with it; kill stuff.

BW,
Try the Carbon Express Heritage arrows. I have some 350s made up that weigh 625gr. Also, Three Rivers is now selling weight tubes up to 8gr/inch.
BTW, I'm getting a whopping 195fps but can hit where I look (most times).

Hey Scot, I'm trying out the Mathews Switchback at the moment. It's set on 50 lbs and shoots Blackhawk Carbon Vapors (3000) like freakin lightening. I literally can't see them go - even with a white cap and white fletch. Ain't used to that. Are you getting 195 from a stickbow with a 625gr arrow? That is smoking. Even with a compound it ain't shabby. I also guarantee it ain't gonna stop anytime soon........... .

I don't know a whole lot about WB rests but I'm with VA - if it ain't broke don't fix it.
Very good shooting by the way!

One thing for sure is that a slow hit is better than a fast miss any day.

Ruger, I couldn't have said it better myself.
WAIT..........One thing for sure is that a slow hit is better than a fast miss any day.........Nope I was right it sounded better when you said it.
I started 15 years ago with a right handed compound that had some snap to it....then graduated to a left handed compound just to change this up and always getting faster. Now I have taked a step back to a right handed recurve that is scary quiet. I don't think I will be putting this one on the shelf any time soon.

I'm shooting 410gr (with 100gr STs) at 266fps out of my CSS Encore 35 @ 70lbs and 28 1/2" draw length. It shoots alot flatter than I thought it would and is ultra quiet and smooth. I won't trade this set up for anything as I have a good balance of speed, arrow weight, forgiveness, and lack of noise and recoil. I personally believe too many bowhunters go nuts on speed and pay little if any attention to other aspects of their rig. Your mileage may vary.
