Yes, you won't have to send the Zeiss back because it won't zero.

Say they were even, or the Ziess had a slight edge, which I do not believe is true, what else would the Ziess have going for it? The vx5 are a great deal on here, if you want firedot, the illumination is superior and gives an edge in low light, alumina caps available are about the best caps you can buy, the leupold usually is lighter weight, and service is in country. Plus the leupold has better lines and looks great on any rifle.

....and in the end it’s an aiming device and if it can’t do that it’s a paper weight.

Leupold is lighter that would be the advantage.

FYI Zeiss is serviced in the US

I won't argue with you there, and I went that route for a while, but for hunting I got tired of my rifles feeling like I had a brick tied to them. I thought the NF 3-10x42 was the bomb, but at 3-4 ounces lighter and 5x higher magnification, the VX5 seems to be doing everything I want it to for at least a couple hundred $$ less.

I did not realize Ziess were serviced in US, thanks!

I hope the VX5’s are mechanically sound but I’ve been bit by the VX2’s and 3’s too many times and have lost a little faith. My Zeiss V4’s are about perfect for my style of hunting/shooting...whether that be sneaking timber or smacking rocks over 1k.
