Some idiot of a reported reported that 4 others were onboard, and then immediately listed Kobe's family members. Real easy to think his family was on board, but I just read his family is alive and well.

There wasn't much of case, whatever actually happened it was clear she was trying to shake Kobe down, and eventually get her big payoff. If Kobe had been some middle class black man in Vail, he would still be in prison, but he had the money to go toe to toe with the prosecution and tore the accusations apart. This isn't a defense of Bryant, it's a condemnation of a legal system that innocence or guilt is determined by money.

A few reported facts: Kobe owned the helicopter. Not sure who was the pilot. Was flying from his home in Newport Beach to the Staples Center in LA. Had been making the trip for many years via helicopter. Was a routine flight. Aircraft caught fire in flight.
