A few reported facts: Kobe owned the helicopter. Not sure who was the pilot. Was flying from his home in Newport Beach to the Staples Center in LA. Had been making the trip for many years via helicopter. Was a routine flight. Aircraft caught fire in flight. Sounds like he was going to a basketball practice with his daughter for her team in Mamba Academy, Thousand Oaks. As well as another player,parent+pilot.

Funny how everybody breaks out the rape accusations on the Kobe thread, but forgets about them on the Trump threads.

By the way, I agree wholeheartedly, that in both instances, the accusations were simply folks looking for a payday. Trump has never been accused of rape.

It seems as if the helicopeter was owned by Bryant,..Sikorsky S-76 of some variant,..and that he's owned it for years.
My guess is,..he didn't have the best people maintaining it.

Trump's helicopter is also a Sikorsky S-76. He owned two of them. Maybe he still does.

One less rapist in the world I was not a Kobe fan, although I thought he played with a lot of class, especially when compared to Lebron James and some others. However, I don't believe he raped anyone. The mudshark was accused him was just looking for some easy money and a big Black talleywhacker.

Had more than a couple evenings with a former team mate of Bryant's sitting around and mostly talking fishing. He did not have a good word for him, especially after Bryant accused him of hitting on his wife. It was in the news quite some time ago. And the guy telling the story was absolutely a star in the NBA for a very long time.

He was flying to the "MAMBA" training academy a sports program for kids, the sad part is his 13 yr old daughter, her friend and friends parent was also on board.
