Hi guys, I want to buy some cheap ammo for target shooting and this ammo Prvi Partizan seems to be the cheapest. Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

I’ve used it for blasting (aka breaking in) Ammo in brand new rifles then reload the brass.

If you’re looking for blasting Ammo you could do a lot worse.

I like it. Very reasonably priced ammunition. I’ve used it in multiple calibers to break in a new (or new to me) rifle.

I keep some on hand for a few rifles to use as a “control” group over a chrono.

My 6.5x55 shoots the 140gt PPU soft points so well I use it as my hunting loss in that rifle. The soft points PPU loads perform extremely well in their 6.5x55 load on deer.

I just bought a .270 Win and I now have some boxes of PPU 130 and 150 gr inbound.

I have used it in a number of rifles. My one Marlin 30-30 loves the 150gr load. Would I use it for deer hunting? Yes.

I have only used PRVI in one cartridge, the 6.5X55, 140 gr.

It shot VERY DIRTY. The velocity was about softball speed.

6.5X55 - 140 gr @ 2250 fps.

OTOH the brass seems to be good, others have said they like/use it as well.

You decide what you need.

I won't be getting ANY more.

Their 9.3x62 drives tacks in my CZ and their 7x57 and 7.5x55 out shoot more expensive ammo in my Ruger No. 1 RSI and T/C Encore respectively.

PPU advertises the speed a hair over 2500 FPS. In my 22” barrel I know it was slower. I don’t have my notes handy, so I can’t remember the specifics.

I’m guessing PPU loads their 6.5x55 to be safe in old military actions. It’s definitely not a barn burner of a load, but it will do the job.

I’ve always wondered about the quality of the bullets. I like the breadth of PP’s leadings. All of the PP/Monarch ammo I’ve purchased has shot well.

I always load my own ammo, but I shoot PPU bullets in a few of my rifles and so far I have been fairly well impressed.
I use their 156 grain R.N. 6.5MM in my 6.5X54 Mannlicher and shooting it along side the old Sierra 160 (discontinued) and the Hornady 160 (limited production) the PPU has done a better job on game so far then the sierra and is the most accurate of the 3 in my little carbine. My 6.5M/S shoots them at 2233FPS average.

In my 9.3X57s (2 of them) and my 9.3X74R as well as my 9.3X62 the PPU 286 grain round nose shoots well. Not as accurate as the Hornady 286 but only about a bullet width less. The most accurate 9.3MM Bullet I have shot is the Speer 270 grain, but it's also the worst performer on game of any I have used. The PPU is excellent on game. I do wish they would make one in about the 235 grain range too. In my two 9.3X57s the 285 Gr. bullet shoots just about 1 MOA. On deer and antelope it's been great, and I have been right next to a man when he killed 2 elk, (one last year and one this year) with the same bullet shot from his 9.3X62. Very well done. Large diameter wound channel and full penetration on angling shots. So far I have ZERO complaints.
I shoot them at about 2140 FPS in my two 9.3X57s, and at about 2435 in my 9.3X74R and my 9.3X62.

I don't think the PPU bullets are magic but they are as good as the old Core-Lokts made by Remington or maybe a bit better. Price is good too, so you can afford to practice with them. I may try some of their 30 cals too in the future.

Have some 223 69gr BTHP it is their match AMMO there was a case deal at Christmas.

I think it's fine. In 9.3 mm seems a little hard. Last deer I shot with it in November at about 70 yards went nickel sized through the left foreleg, wrecked the chest, and left a nickel exit wound in right foreleg. Also have a ton in 7mm. The brass goes forever.

Try a box, if your rifle shoots it reasonably well you have found your practice ammo.

Shoots great in my 222, my hand loads are only slight better. I am currently thinking about ordering a case in 7x57.

I have used it in a few calibres, such as 7x57R (140 gn and 173 gn), .303 British and 9.3x62, and I think it is good value. The brass has been really good value for money, and I prefer it over some better-known brands.

Cheap ammo and target shooting is usually an oxymoron.

If you're looking for precision loaded ammo that will allow you to get the most potential accuracy out of your rifle, PP isn't that ammo.

If you're looking for inexpensive ammo that is reasonably accurate so that you can get some extra trigger time plinking with a center-fire rifle, PP is OK. When my Son transitioned to a center-fire rifle, I bought 200 rounds of PP for him to shoot, so that he got used to the recoil and the over-all feel of the physically larger/heavier rifle.

The catch being that PP might not be as accurate as comparable FED/REM/WIN, so you might want to shoot a group with the good stuff after you've shot a few boxes of PP just to confirm that you can get the accuracy that you're seeking.

I've used PP ammo in .22 Hornet, 25-06, 6.5x55, 7x57, 7.5x55, 8x57, and 9.3x62. All of it was good, but none of it was great.
