I run 155 Scenar’s exclusively with 48.5 gr Varget in a Lapua case. It gets 2900 fps in my 22” 308’s. So compressed a load it is that seating depth is “push it until won’t go no more”. Though arbitrary, this load is one ragged hole accurate in all of my, currently 5 ea, 308’s. Damn, that's a stout load. I use 47.0 Varget in Lapua brass for around 2,820 fps (22" bbl).

Well, it is a book load from ??? Can’t remember where I got it from but, it works good for me. It hasn’t shown any signs of mistreating my guns. I have had a lot of fun hunting with it.

I reckon the seating stem is at least 1/4” diameter without putting a caliper to it.
Didn’t mean to misrepresent. But, I seat until the bullet stops atop the powder column. I’m not crunching kernels.

CFE-223's your huckleberry DF, take a book load and go forth, it's great in my REPR house guns with the 150 NPT's and 155 Scenars, great accuracy and only one moa difference in poi at 200 yards with the little NF twisters.

How about leverevolution? I thought this thread looked familiar. Seems I started it back in '13. I'm learning about LVR, seems like an interesting powder. One poster said it "over gassed" his AR's. I'm wondering if it's a progressive burner, with more pressure down the barrel than regular powder. Burn rate is pretty close to .308 powders, including Big Game. It should work. LVR's claim to fame seems to be enhanced performance in the 30-30 and that's what Hodgdon is pushing it for. They don't offer other data, except for the 308 and 338 Marlin. DF
