I’ve been a life long muzzle taper. I have thought about getting a fixed 6 swfa, gotta see what all the hype is about and maybe a 7mm08 Fieldcraft. I’ll be sure to paint all the screw heads with my old lady’s brightest nail polish. And don’t forget to tape on the scope caps.... Okay, another one I don’t understand. Why paint the screw heads with bright nail polish? The nailpolish is a witness mark, if the line of nail polish is offset on the head, the screw is spinning.

My most "Campfire" rifle: > Rem 700 KS Barreled action purchased from the 'Fire. > Pacific Research Rimrock stock purchased from the 'Fire > Leupold 2.5x8x36 purchased from the 'Fire, sent off to Leupold for German #4 and CDS > Calvin trigger that I learned about on the 'Fire > HS Gen1 DBMS from somewhere... Chambered in .270Win, of course! Have literally +500 lbs of reloading components for it. But, it shoots well enough with Nosler 130gr NAB factory loads that I haven't reloaded for it in several years...

Probably this one...bought the barrel on the Classifieds, an LVSF take off in .221fb, bought the stock on the classifieds...A B&C Alaskan....bought the scope and mounts on the Classifieds, SIG Whiskey 3 with illuminated reticle. Punched the chamber out to .222...turned out to be a favorite!

What’s the reason for the orange tape? Moisture and debris. But if you’re part of the do nothing gang it prevents you from sticking gum wrappers and snickers wrappers down the barrel while sitting in your deer condo 150 yards from your truck that you drove to with the SxS.🤪 The air column blows it off the end of the barrel when you pull the trigger, but this is unconfirmed... most of the tape stays on for years at a time, only to be replaced with shiny new tape. Confetti after the shot.

"THE" campfire rifle is a .300 Win Mag on a Rem 700 action with 24" Lilja #4 in a McMillan Classic voted on by the members and plumbed together by Charlie Sisk back in 2004 or so... The vast majority of my customs, some 14 or so are 700s or clones with #3s in Classics, so I guess my answer to "most Campfire rifle" would be "most of my rifles."

No picture but I have the Montana Rifle Company .260 Remington "Campfire Special" that Whittakers offered a few years ago with limited production 8 twist fluted barrel. Oh, it has a Nightforce 2.5-10x42 NRX scope mounted in Seekins low rings.
I can't get any closer to a Campfire Rifle than a "Campfire Special order"

I have a Campfire special rifle. Remington 700Ti 260 bought from a true Gentleman here on the Fire. Won't be any photos and I don't know what it weighs. I have a much lighter gun in 308 coming. NULA in .308. This, coming from another Gentleman on the Fire. Thanks JH. Also have a 358 Winchester Savage 99 Brush gun circa '72. Then there is the really Campfire gun, a Savage 110, 30-06 rebore to 9.3x62, Again from a gentleman as all the previous guns. Be Well, Rustyzipper.

My campfire rifle is a M70 compact classic with Pac-nor fwt contour 22" 9 twist stainless barrel, chambered .250AI and a VXIII 2.5-8x scope. All sourced from the classifieds, including dies and brass.

This one is pure Campfire...swirly McM A5 with a fat Brux barrel chopped to 22", .243 Ackley with a Fixed Phuqer... It's a shooter and on the first hunt it killed 3 antelope with 3 shots. I still use it, but these days I'm more than happy with a factory Rem 700 7-08 in a McM Hunter stock. Light, accurate, relatively inexpensive.

For me it has to be a rifle that I both bought and sold here. 700Ti in 270 WCF -Bedded into Edge stock and painted by Karl Feldkamp -Aluminum shroud and triggergurard added -Metal work Cerakoted black -6x42mm VX-3 with CDS dial I bought it as a stock Ti in the classifieds, tricked it out, hunted with it for couple of years and then sold it here (to the same guy I bought it from).

My M70 Classic stainless FW 30-06 I bought from Brad and then later bought a Winlite 270 for the stock. I have a FX-II 6x36 with a post & duplex reticle my son ordered from the Custom shop on it. Barreled action, stock, and scope from three different members.

I used to be a 700 guy, but the Campfire has turned me into a Tikka lover! I just ordered #3, with plans for a fourth. They just shoot!
When I first became a member here, 243AI was all the rage! I built one, then a faux Ti in 7-08. I still want a 223ai in a "McFlame"!
