Yep. All that's required to convert the existing system into universal registration of all future firearm acquisitions is to impose universal background checks. That's de facto universal registration, which has always, historically, preceded mass confiscation. Once they know where they are all required to be (in who's possession), it becomes a simple matter to go house to house for them.
