Pawn store had one come out today called me, went to look came home with me for 650.00.
1999 born, cross bolt safety, ported barrel with hood, bulls eye, gun is 100%. The owner took it out of box when I walked in. What could I say but I will take it.
Wife said I have 11 months to retirement better get them now. What a woman!!!!!!!!!!

Better have some good ear protection when you touch that one off. Those ported barrels are loud. I shot mine once just before dark, flames shooting out for it seemed like six feet around that barrel.

Say what?...... Op. What jkingrph says. I had mine give me a nose bleed from the concussion being confined in the cab of a log truck when I touched it off. Other then that you scored my man!

Congrats on your Marlin 45-70. I am on my 3rd and final one since 1990. They are very popular in Alaska for bear protection and I believe far more Alaskan's use them for that then hunting. Mine if fed 405 grain Kodiak Super Bonded bullets, but if I did not live in Alaska I would probably be using Hornady FN 350 grain bullets.. Have fun with that rifle Pard and God Bless America !
