Hello Everybody,
I have been lurking on these forums for quite some time, but this is my first post. I was hoping to get some information on some bullets that I recently happened upon, as an internet search turned up little. They are from the Bitterroot Bullet Company. There are 8 bags of .338 225 grainers, 5 bags of .358 250 grainers, and a lone bag of .358 225 grainers. The 358's have a home in my 35 Whelen (lighting up jackrabbits behind my house), but I do not own any sort of 338, so if anybody has a recommendation on what cartridge they might work good in, please chime in! The .358's have a printed minimum velocity of 2800 fps, but the 338's have nothing listed. Thanks!

Bitter Root was a small, custom bullet maker.

I believe they went out of business a few years back.

PM sent.

Bitterroot Bullets was a one-man operation in Lewiston ID.
Bill Steigers was the man behind these bullets. Bill Steigers passed away in October 2015.

Those were and still are some of the best bullets made for larger game. Save them for hunting something bigger than jack rabbits. The 338s were made for the later OKH cartridges when then switched from .333 to .338 and of course the .338 Winchester. Do some elk hunter a favor and sell them.

Yes - don't shoot rabbits with Bitterroot Bonded Cores! These are some great bullets. Work up a load and kill something big with 'em.
