Just got an email from her. Jordan has declared martial law. Nothing is crossing their borders either way, not even military mail. It remains to be seen whether they can pull the troops out. I don't see what problem they've have with that other than military planes landing to load them out.

I also have always felt the purpose of the National Guard was as a home guard but, plainly, that has changed. And yes, I did serve from 1969 to 1971 but politically, things are certainly different now than then. GD
