How do I release the trigger spring on my 99, 303? I have snap caps for my shotguns but I don't see anything for the 303. With bolt action rifles you can usually pull the trigger and close the bolt at the same time to release the trigger spring. But that doesn't work with my lever action. I've heard that dry firing without using a snap cap is hard on the firing pin. Is using an empty case acceptable? How do you guys do it? Thanks for your info.

After making sure the gun has no ammo in the chamber and magazine, close the bolt almost all the way, pull the trigger so it wont cock and then close the bolt.
This should do it.
You have an older model as you said you have a 303.
On the newer models- this method of decocking won't work.
Good luck with your 303. Mel
