I am trying to remove and replace the butt pad on my wifes gun and after I take the screws out it wont come off. Its like its glued on there with some crazy strong glue. Suggestions on how to remove it without screwing something up?

I would take a 1" chisel and drive it down through the joint, concentrating on keeping it closer to the pad, it'l normally pop right off
