357 Sig in Underwood ammo gets some serious velocity 1475 to 1500 FPS with 125 grain bullets.
An extra barrel means you can have both.

An extra barrel means you can have both since they both use the same magazine

^^^This^^^ I prefer my Glock 32 in .357 Sig, but no flies on the Sig handguns in that caliber either. I’ve owned FNH pistols in 9mm & 45 acp and they were great guns too.

I just bought a P239 in 357 3 weeksago but it was a "just because" purchase. I'd wanted one for around 15 years. When things started getting stupid, I bought two boxes of fmj and two of Gold Dots, just in case.

I don't believe the Underwood ammo is loaded to SAAMI specs. Increased pressure = slide and frame stress and trouble, especially if warranties are involved.

I did not like the report of the .357 SIG. .40S&W has been ok for me for a while.

Buy the .357 Sig and get a .40 barrel to have on hand.
The correct answer is always ‘both’ in this scenario!

The correct answer is always ‘both’ in this scenario! And a 9mm conversion barrel. At least that’s how my G35 is set up.

Same here--sort of. I bought a G23 and a 9mm barrel. The gun has never fired a round of .40, just 9mm. As to the original question, I'm in the same camp as those that say buy the .357 and the extra barrel(s). Options are never bad...

The correct answer is always ‘both’ in this scenario! Correct, though me being 180 off from that, I'm looking for a 357 Sig barrel for my P226 40, I think it'll be a fun loading and shooting project, 90gr Lehigh Defenders at 16-1700 fps cant suck.

I went 40SW, but have accumulated alternate barrels in 357 Sig, and 9mm.

Since both the 40 S&W and 357 Sig have similar case capacities, when loaded to practical Max. (not SAAMI) and fired in the same gun, the 40 S&W will produce more energy than the .357 Sig. because of the 40's greater cross section.

Nice! I was whining to a Bud about not being able to find a P226 barrel in 357 Sig, he was certain he could get a Bud of his to pull me a barrel from one of his 357's, I said thanks but i'll wait, I may be a whiner, but wont be vag enough to ask a man to pull a barrel from his pistol just so I can play around, life or death, different deal, YES, sell me 10 complete pistols!
