Apparently he was assisting a motorist, the shooter took his uniform and truck and fled but was apprehended after a shootout. Happened on US93 between Wells & Ely.
Ely's a small town, pretty sure the HP is a local, we're dreading hearing who it is.
Include this family in your prayers if you will. They're gonna need 'em.

It's a sad thing for sure. These guys patrol vast remote areas with no help or backup close. He no doubt is a member of the community...he and his family.
