Ours also got cancelled a couple of days ago. I called and asked for the cash refund. I can't plan 1+ to 2 years out, and I don't know where the cruise line will be, either. It took 45 minutes on hold to get someone on the phone. I suppose that we weren't the only ones doing that.

Carnival cruise, who also owns Princess and Holland America canceled all Alaskan cruises until July 1.

Its not clear whether Princess and Holland America will make their own announcement, but I would assume that is a blanket statement

Since you're all sitting at home watching tv, here's a video about a guy who build his own cruise ship. You can fast forward over a lot of it and not miss anything.

They have to be cancelled. Canada has closed all their ports to cruise ships until that date (at least). Since Alaskan cruises have to stop at a foreign port, that does it. If they didn't, they'd have to comply with the Jones Act.
That's also why cruise lines are being very cautious. They are at the mercy of various governments. If ports aren't open, they can't run cruises. I've heard that the river cruise lines are in better financial shape since they don't run all year. They'll just start their season late. They don't have to get employees home, figure out where to tie their ships up, etc.

RCC has already cancelled all cruises on their lines world-wide.. IIRC, they did that about 3+ weeks ago, at least..

Good idea, they could be bankrupt shortly

I read yesterday the CDC has mandated that all cruise lines charter transportation for guest to arrive at their home.

No passengers on cruise lines can travel public transportation after the cruise.

I wouldn’t even get on a hospital ship, if I was bleeding to death.

Cruise line stocks were up double digits earlier. What's up with that?

We've taken a number of Mediterranean and North Atlantic cruises (mostly on Oceania) and really enjoyed then. Presently, I'd consider a bathtub as close to a cruise as I want to come.

Cruises were a lot nicer when ships were under 100,000 tons. Now there are 24 over 150,000 and 4 over 225,000 tons.

Maybe a river cruise.

they let all those people off the boats 2 or 3 days ago, and they just dispersed into the general population.

so the CDC made the declaration. I would assume that effectively kills all cruises until the CDC says its OK
