25 yards,...$150 rifle,...Weaver V3 scope,..Ncstar $11 scope rings,...bulk ammo (Winchester Xpert 36 grain HP)

I think it's a keeper.

Marlin semi's can be very accurate. I have several and they all shoot really well. My old 995, a walnut stocked forerunner of yours with 7 shot mag will dump all 7 into one ragged hole at 30 yards with CCI mini mags repeatedly.

I heard the 795's were accurate. I bought the little rifle on a whim one day when I was kicking around Bud's. I think if someone did a trigger job on it, it would get even tighter. But it's good enough.

They're bare bones .22 semi autos, but they have dandy barrels.

I have an old beat up 995 that I got for Christmas in 1985 that will still do the exact same. Excellent rifles

I think so.

I pulled a couple of shots on the lower targets. (6 lb trigger) I shot the top two last. I was getting hunkered down by then.

Looks like a solid "minute of squirrel head" rifle. An accurate .22 rimfire is one of life's necessities.

In my experience, any semi auto is a toss up. Some are reliable,..another one just like it isn't.

This one runs good.

I've got a couple of .223s around here in case I ever need to repel boarders. But if all I had was this little pop gun, I'd feel a long way from being unarmed.

I'd hate to be on the receiving end of it at "inside the house" distances.

Not surprised, I’ve been impressed as all get out with my NIB Marlin Mod 60. Went out with one of my Tejano nephews on Saturday and went through 500 rounds of Federal CMP LR in no time at all. No jams. We was just slaying tin cans and fired shotgun shells offhand with the factory sight, but it was obvious if we did our part so did the rifle.

Micro groove rifling and a heavy barrel 😎

Only mishap was the front take down screw came loose and the back take down screw in the back of the trigger guard fell out somewhere. Never had one of these rifles before I didn’t know I needed to check those. Got a replacement on the way soon as the virus clears. Works fine with just the front one snugged tight anyway.

It seems the quality of this rifle survived the takeover by Remington and the move to Atlanta, except maybe they don’t have anybody checking the takedown screws.

It deserves a scope. For bargain basement rings, I'm fairly impressed with these.
