I have decided to put this back up as it just too nice of a rifle to be an “unshot” safe queen. I thought I had this sold locally 2 years ago but that fizzled out and just decided to put it back in the safe. Now that I have a new custom .257 Rbts this will never get used.

Up for sale is a custom Remington 700 in 6.5 Creedmoor. Barry Davis of Micro Groups in Bayfield, CO built this rifle. I sent him a new 700 stainless short action. He blueprinted the action. He installed a fluted Bartlein # 19 contour barrel with a 1:8 twist. Finished barrel length is 21" with a recessed crown. This contour mimics the Remington mag contour. The barreled action was pillar & glass bedded in a McMillan Game Scout edge ultra-light Kuiu Vias 2.0 matte texture hydro dipped stock. The factory trigger was replaced with a Timney Calvin Elite. All metal was cerakoted in sniper grey. Weight as pictured is 6lbs. 10.5 ozs. This rifle is NIB…yes I know I can’t believe I haven’t shot it yet either. As you can see in the pics the plug screws for the base screw holes have not even been removed.

I really hate to move this but I have too much sentimental meaning for the .257 Roberts and this rifle is overlap for how I would use it. That was the intent but... I did this because the .257 Roberts has such sentimental meaning to me and now I have 2 customs that are complete overlap for my given purposes:

Last year I had "Redneck" build me my version of the perfect deer & hog rifle. Turned out perfect!!!

Cartridge - .257 Roberts
Action - Blueprinted Model 70 XTR short action
Barrel - Bartlein #0 contour 21.5”
Stock – McMillan Sako Classic Edge brown w/black specks & red decelerator
Trigger – factory adjusted and polished
Optics - Leupold VX-6 3-18 x 44 with firedot illuminated reticle in Talley Lightweights
Cerakote all metal – Satin Mag

I have had some folks PM me some questions, so I am going to post the info here:

I had a NIB Remington 700 SPS Stainless in .243 (so the receiver/action is stainless) I purchased a Bartlein # 19 contour and had it fluted from Bugholes.com; yes it is 1 in 8 twist. I purchased the McMillan Game Scout edge ultra-light Kuiu Vias 2.0 matte texture hydro dipped stock direct from McMillan new. I sent all these components to Barry Davis owner of Micro Groups in Bayfield, CO. He blueprinted the action and did all the build for the rifle. Additionally, he replaced the factory trigger with a Timney model Calvin Elite trigger it breaks right at 2.5 lbs (but is fully adjustable) The barreled action was pillar & glass bedded and the barrel is floated. All metal surfaces are cerakoted in sniper grey. This is a full 100% custom rifle. The only shot fired was a proof load by the builder. As far as an accuracy guarantee there was not one provided but Barry said it should be a 1/4 MOA rifle. That is everything I know about this rifle.
