Bought an old International disc that’s got a good bit of rust all over it. It’s still very solid and I want to preserve it by painting it. I’ve thought about using an angle grinder with a cup wire wheel for the rust removal. I looked into naval jelly and it seems pretty pricey on this scale. I don’t have a sandblaster. Any other ideas?

Hire it sand blasted. I painted a boat trailer I cleaned with an angle grinder, and many cup brushes.

Pull the disk through the ground, and the disks will be clean and shiny..

For the rest of the frame, etc. I have RustX products that work well.

Where did you buy yours? Remember the cost?

I got mine at a local hydraulic hose shop.

I think I paid $60 for a gallon of RustX product... Different than rust remover. You just brush this stuff on, and it seals the rust and prevents more rust. You can leave it like that, or paint over it.

I'll have to look at what the product is called.

here's the stuff I use.

Gallon goes a long ways.

You can just pressure wash, then apply this and leave it, or paint over it.

Naval Jelly or Rust-. Wires brush the loose stuff, coat it,let dry, paint.

Rockinbar I found some of that at Harbor Freight. I’ll give it a try.

Ospho will work also.

Thin like water. Use a sprayer.

Cover a large area with a binks gun / wash down / gunk gun. Whatever you call it in your part of the world.
