Trigger - yes. Feed lips - maybe. Breechface & extractor hook? - sure, go ahead and believe that soft brass is going to polish hardened steel.
You're a dumb fugk.

Buy whatever is cheapest.
No the 115 won't be easier on the gun. Matter of fact, a lot of the 115gr FMJ stuff is loaded pretty warm.
Working the slide does not accomplish the same thing as running ammo through a new pistol.
dla is a fugktard.
Yes it does. Thats is exactly how you lap slides. What the hell do you think "break in" is anyway? Actually shooting the weapon smooths up any small irregularities in the breechface, extractor hook, magazine feed lips, trigger. You won't get any of that watching Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg cooking up some munchies. Trigger - yes. Feed lips - maybe. Breechface & extractor hook? - sure, go ahead and believe that soft brass is going to polish hardened steel. It's not just the (extractor)hook that will get burnished. The extractor itself rides in the slide, metal-on-metal, and it moves in there. Any kind of metal on metal movement will burnish and smoothen, even if only to a small degree. Not unlike a copper jacketed bullet in a steel bore.

As already noted, the majority of factory pistols are going to be reliable without a deliberate break-in.
It's still a sensible thing to run a couple hundred rounds through them, to prove some level of reliable function. For peace of mind if nothing else.

Scored another 200 rounds of 115 grain Remington and Blazers today at a hardware store up north today. Ammo loading might be considered nonessential and the big box stores are all cleaned out.

The only time I've done a deliberate break-in, per the manufacturer's suggestion was with a Kahr CW9. A 200 round break-in is recommended. I used some cheapo Winchester 115gr steel case. The pistol never bobbled. I have a theory that a couple hundred rounds of the steel cased stuff is probably the best choice for the job. I don't have any particular theories about break-in and or ammo for the purpose, but can say that the last malfunction I had with a centerfire pistol that didn't prove to be ammo related was in 2007. And that was a magazine issue. I've currently got 2 9mms that work real well with the winchester steel csse 115s.

I’ve got a little over 400 rds of mixed 9mm ball and hollow points that will be going thought my new Triarc Tri11 9mm by this weekend. Then it will see 150 rds of 124gr Gold Dot +p’s as I have always liked them. I have a ton of them and plan to carry that load provided it shoots and cycles well as it has in several other 9mm’s.

With 200 rounds of live fire you should be able to test the whole system, gun, mags and holster. Some Bill drills or similar w/ help you refine your grip and control recoil. If your blaster won't handle steel cased ammo get a Glock mike r

The STV out of Czech Republic is about the best bang for money spent one can get in brass-cased range ammo.
