woke up with a terrible headache and tylenol didn't help , i chewed on some banana peels for some reason . my headache is gone but there is something sticky in the peels.
did some googling and some of the chemical in there might have helped , among them ; norepinephrine

Quote

Norepinephrine is a naturally occurring chemical in the body that acts as both a stress hormone and neurotransmitter (a substance that sends signals between nerve cells). It's released into the blood as a stress hormone when the brain perceives that a stressful event has occurred

any comments ? did i discover sunthin ?

Let us know how you fare.

Mankind has learned from others by observing how they felt and if they lived after eating various things. For example: A polar bear's liver contains an extremely high concentration of vitamin A. Ingesting polar bear liver can cause vitamin A poisoning resulting in vomiting, bone damage and even death.

I wonder how many Eskimos were observed before others learned not to eat the liver? Curious minds want to know!

Back yard mule deer consume peels and all and I've never heard a single one complain of a headache.

Banana skins have been credited with various medicinal uses, including analgesia.

Applying banana peel to the site of a pain can result in almost immediate relief, according to the Pain Research Institute, which describes itself as “a worldwide organisation of doctors who believe the root cause of pain is broken, cut or suppressed endogenous electrical signals between cells”.

Just wondering what prompted you to start chewing on the peel in the first place? Was it a craving of some sort? Maybe it’s your body talking to you?

The Dead Milkmen wrote a song back in the late eighties called "smokin' bandana peels".

Another song was "drinkin' bleach"

They must have been clairvoyant.
Maybe related to Nostradamus?

I had a banana and coffee for breakfast (nothing else) and don't why I did that ,may be to distract myself from feeling the headache.
the headache is gone but next time i'll wash the peels and remove the chiquita sticker smile

The rabbits in our work yards eat them all the time.
They seem fine.

Years ago my grandfather told of a guy on the railroad during the
Depression. He would eat away from everyone. And was sensitive
about his lunch bucket. One day, they got it and opened it. He had
potato peels. He left the "good" for his family and ate the peels.
Those old folk thought that was something real bad to eat potato peels.

Today, we call them "Tater Skins" and trendy types pay $10 for a plate
of potato peels with a bit if cheese and bacon. WTF!

You may be the beginning of a culinary trend.
