My batch of Starline 308 had pretty bad necks. The 243 I have is better but not great. I was hoping for better because I've been a satisfied user of their handgun brass for quite a long time.

Recently I did a side by side test using Winchester and Starline brass in my 45 colt Ruger Blackhawk Bisley. 50 cases of each brand were repeatedly loaded using the same moderate cast bullet loadings At 32 loadings a couple of the Starline cases began to show minor splits at the case mouths due to repeated belling & crimping. The Winchester began to show splitting at about half the loadings I was able to get out of the Starline cases. The Starline brass was purchased new from Starline and the Winchester brass obtained by firing a box of factory loads. Primer pockets from both remained tight throughout the series. I use Redding dual ring carbide dies in this caliber and Dillon expander and crimping dies on my Dillon 550.

So far I have used Starline brass only in my 44 mags and 45 colt - no Starline rifle brass has been tried. This is just one data point so take it for what it is worth.
