Chit I've sent homemade adult beverages through the mail several times, never had them ask me what it was. I have also sent other stuff.... that might be firearms related.

Went to the local Post Office to mail a long box that contained about 10 pounds of machine tool , plopped it up on the counter and told the lady Priority Mail with $800.00 insurance, please. Yes, Sir, she said , fixed it right up, took my money, gave me a receipt and bid me adieu.
No "What's in the box?", no "Is this a gun?" nothing of that sort at all. Everything just the was it's supposed to be.
Nice to live in a little town in the West.

I always tell them it's machined parts.
Funny to hear the locals speculate on what's in the box. The last one I shipped, honest-to-God, one of them said "that could be a gun."
Rexburg Idaho post office used to demand I give them a copy of the FFL I was sending it to and then they would kept the copy. I argued with them then they would take it all in the back and make some calls as they would say. I just started taking them to Rigby.
I have shipped multiple firearms using First Stop in Rapid City. $25 for handguns, $40 for long guns and they do the packing and assume the risk. Money well spent.
