Sorta nearby, this was one of the mt bike trips I did in Utah a few years ago. We thought we were tough and then a grandma in her Ford Ranger went down this trail and we had no choice but to wait for her to complete the descent and then bomb down on our bikes. I still have scars...

you're missing the sights , if you don't turn right at the 4 way, and go all the way up into town, Historic Trading post that Zane Grey stopped at, etc. plus lots more local color. and the McDonalds! Pretty cool old stone buildings at the old BIA Boarding School, if any are still standing.

PM from Utah

No. It is a long way. Google says 5 hours, but in reality closer to 10.

That is Monument Valley where they film all the westerns. Intolerable in the summer.

My family and I rented a Polaris Ranger in Red Lodge and went to the top of Hellroaring Plateau. That was a hell of a bumpy ride with all of the bowling balls on that trail. Wore my ass out. Scenery was spectacular.

On the way down we saw a couple of specialized rigs with Baja race suspensions. They were still spilling their drinks.

My wife stays in a Red Lodge resort with other old ladies that are her Montana relatives.
Those are golf playing people from Billings.

My brother lives in Montana in a tiny town where it is known that everyone in Billings is a crack whore.
