Very nice! Lee still makes a die set for the 303 Savage. Only runs about $27 or so. Works fine for me. By the way.. feel free to start another thread with some pics if you ever get time. Welcome to the forum!

Thanx Cal! I'll see if Robbie can order me some. I'll have to take some pics. They're going to have 3 more auctions from this guys estate I'll have to see what other calibers he had. He had a lot of older guns. Check it out at nyecountyauctions.com. Lots of good pics. You guys are great!

My Grandaddy's Sav 99 .300 savage has been in a gun case for some 35 years. I think it's Pre-War model EG or R , 24" barrel, stock and forearm match serial #. He didn't use it much so barrel is pristine.

Take that rifle out and hunt it! Pre-war 99 in 300 is a great North American hunting rifle. And we'd love to see pics if you can manage.. we'll tell you all about it. Just open up a new thread with the pics.

I'll add 4. 1913 H 22HP TD. 1921 F 303 TD. 1923 F 30-30 TD. 1954 EG 300.
None are completely original. SOS
Also have 2 1920's, one in each caliber. They appear all original.

Okay.. in the middle of massive work the next couple of days, and deer season this weekend. Everybody update what they have (or PM me if you don't want to publicize your count) and I'll total it up when I get back. I've got totals by 1899s, 99s, and 1895s, so split the count if you can.

I have a Savage 99 EG made in 1940. It is SN 3904**. The caliber is .300 Savage. It is all original but for a marbles tang sight which is not in the attached photo.

My Savage 99 EG .300 was handed down to me by my dad. It appears to be stock except for an aftermarket rubber buttplate. The Marble sight appears to be original. It was the rifle he carried every day on our families sheep ranch. The ranch is now part of the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area on the Snake River in Idaho. It is still a three day hike to get to the remains of the cabin he was raised in but when I go back I will carry and trust the same rifle he did. My rifle is not a show gun but of my 5 or 6 rifles the Savage is the one I would choose if I could only have one. The balance is superb and my accuracy with it says a hell of a lot more about the gun than my accuracy. With the Savage I can quickly blast a milk jug At 100 yards on my first shot, but using my CETME it may be on the second or third shot. The Savage just feels like part of me when I shoot it. Having a gun you trust and can shoot well trumps having a pretty stock and perfect blueing any day. Rifle serial #7487xx
