It should not affect performance as it appears the gasket will compress against the interlocking flat surface of the opposing side. I pulled out my my rtic cooler and found the gaskets are crooked in places also. See pics below.

Got my cooler last week. Tested it out camping this weekend. Threw one bag of ice with about 20 cold beers...... Still drinking the cold ones and there is ice still floating inside. It has been 3.5 days. Cooler is top dollar for hte price and shipping was fast.
