Sig classics are awesome. Owned more than a few. But parts MIGHT become an issue, as they are getting much less production and the supply chain will see shortages. Factory service is also a future concern on them.
Glock? Parts a plenty and super simple to maintain and keep in operation.
Go with what you like, as that is a big part of confidence and success! But be prepared with backup parts and get educated on repairs!

I would get the M&P Compact rather than the Shield. Spreads the recoil out in the web of your hand a bit and gives you a few more rounds. Yep.

Thanks for all the suggestions, got out of town and looked at a few today and fondled a couple. Sig and Springfield.
Stock on the shelves is mighty slim. Going with a friend and shoot a couple of his soon. Then try to make a decision.
