I think the reality in this country is that most people are just too flat fugking gullible to get things going in the right direction.
You have reasonably conservative people like Bristoe and Kingston that still buy into whatever the media sells them when it causes enough fear. You can try and talk them off the ledge but they'll still jump.
You see the same thing when it comes to other issues. 700LH is a good example. A typically conservative individual that is fully convinced Gentle George was murdered. No amount of explanation can convince him otherwise. He's fully in camp with MSNBC and isn't going to be persuaded.
I'm not using these examples to be an ass hole. Just to prove that even right leaning people in America today are incapable of independent and objective thought.

I don't buy into much the media says,...hardly anything. But COVID-19 exists. Nobody can say how extensive a pandemic will be,..and considering that there's 7.5 billion people in the world and the conditions that many of them live in, I'm surprised that there hasn't been multiple pandemics over the past decade.
If I got fooled by it, I can take solace in the fact that Trump got fooled by it also.

If I got fooled by it, I can take solace in the fact that Trump got fooled by it also. I don't think he was fooled by it. He realized it was a political risk and basically stayed semi-neutral, made it a states rights issue (properly) and made pence, Fauci and "the scarf" the face of it at the federal level. If he's guilty of anything, it's getting involved on a scientific level at all. He should've done nothing but hammer China's ass at every chance and addressed the virus on its economic effects only since that is his strong suit.
