It’s a shame how far NASCAR has fallen. I really miss the 80s into the mid 90s era of the sport. Most of the drivers of that era had done something other than driving a race car for a living. This made them pretty humble and approachable. Pretty neat for a kid growng up in the Mooresville, N.C. area. It really was fun back then. The driver/team rivalries were pretty intense.

Unfortunately, I think NASCAR is a dying sport. Over the past few years the track at Dover has removed at least 1/4 of their grandstand and just last week I heard they are losing one of its two annual races. A loss of millions for the local economy. The track/casino was already struggling to survive.

NASCAR was started as the common man's racing
as opposed to formula or grand prix or indy racing.
Since it hasn't been common man's in quite some
time, all the
restrictions as far as tire and engine cubic inch
limitations should be removed as long as the car
can pass a safety inspection.
If the pit crew wants to sing Dixie for the duration
of the race, have at it.
I'm sure all the rest of the world laughs at America
when we aren't looking because we let our feminine
feelings get hurt so easily by things we should blow
