Not Soros, but Oskar Groening, who worked at Auschwitz and, long afterward, contested claims by Holocaust deniers:

"I saw everything,the gas chambers, the cremations, the selection process. One and a half million Jews were murdered in Auschwitz. I was there."

Soros was no better, and in some ways worse. He was a Jew who denied his faith and collaborated with the Nazis after they took over in Hungary in 1944, including playing an active role in confiscating the property of the Jews as they were turned out of their homes and taken away to the death camps. He has made no secret of it, nor does he have any remorse for it.

I'll add this about Soros: Hungarians were well aware of the Final Solution. While Hungary was an ally of Nazi Germany, the Hungarian government had declined to be part of the Holocaust and had refused to send Jews to the death camps. In fact Jews had fled other countries to Hungary to be safe. All of this changed when the Germans took over in 1944 - invaded really - and the mass deportations to places like Auschwitz started.

The Hungarian people knew what was going on. They knew that the Jews were being taken away to slavery and death. FWIW my grandfather, who had left his well-paid job in the Swiss banking system to become an officer in the Hungarian forces and fought on the Russian front, was there in Budapest in 1944, as was my Swiss grandmother. They saw the Arrow Cross thugs beating up the Jews, and them and the SS dragging them from their homes, and like their Hungarian neighbours they knew what was happening. My grandfather even gave one of his uniforms to a Jewish man, to help him escape.

Soros knew exactly what he was doing, and what he was actively assisting. And he has no regrets.
