Dry mouth, you might have apnea and/or be dropping your chin a little in the deeper phases of sleep, and breathing in thru the mouth.

If it's your parathyroid, it does need attention for sure, but it's not hard to fix.

The parathyroids are each the size of a grain of rice. Popping a bad one out is outpatient surgery. You'll be OK later in the day, and pretty much recovered by day 3.

Half of one gland is enough. If you have a bad one, you won't miss it.

Call tomorrow, and ask if an MRI will show the results they need, so you don't have to get the high radiation from a CT Scan test, and re-schedule for an MRI.

One more thing, go get a bottle of 100% lemon juice if you don't have some presently, and pour a teaspoon on the very back of your tongue, and hold it for a minute, and then swallow. It'll make your nausea subside. Little trick they use with cancer patients.

If it's any consolation, I was impressed.

Good luck JG and thanks for sharing. You never know who on here this might help that don't have the means or motivation to go to the doctor.

Where are they doing CT? Head and neck or thorax or abdomen and pelvis?

Little info lacking here.

Anyone who says PT removal is easy hasn't been present when they are digging around in someone's neck for 6 hours.

This is not the place for medical advise.

Digging around for six hours?

Surgery is very short. I had a bad one out in the morning and in the afternoon was sitting in my living room, chatting with friends. I didn't feel like chatting for long, but I was OK. There may be some truth to the rumor that I'm more entertaining when recovering from anesthesia.

If one of the glands is bad they pop it out and then check your calcium. It only takes a minute or so for the surgery to take effect.

Nothing useful, medically, to offer other than if the dry mouth is an ongoing issue try Xylomelts. they have an adhesive of some sort on one side so it attaches to your teeth when asleep. Most pharmacies have it in stock. I've used it for years due to chronic dry mouth. Best of luck.
