KVAR
Arms of America
Other sites
Ect ect ect
Money for that crap = ammo.
Rather have ammo

Busted out the jewelers files last night and the cold blue.
Sight is flexed up postion for the pic.
Camera angle is off to sight a little.

Wundar bar....

Coolio,

Now, did you get to that mowing out back yet?

Always was curious about the KNS front sight set.
Buncha different size and shapes.

Fugg dat...
Money for that = ammo......

Screw it out counting turns, not a precise thing cause of when I felt it release from FSB.
After mod done screw back in same # not a precise thing again

Jewelers files ,Chuck in variable speed drill, sand paper, some cold blue.
Barely touch top to not affect total height
Turned that square 8 to 9 moa thing into a .030 circular straight post .

Sight picture clear and crisp and waaaaaaaay more precise aiming.

Pic is fuzzy and off angle to sight.

Hit the range at cheatham where I can do what the fugg I want.
Brought 400rds total.
"Check" 50m zero after reinstalling front sight.
Sight picture was outstanding!!!

Do some bench and bag grouping with the 3 types of ammo I got in my stash.
Do some drill firing, do some 4 position shooting
Blah blah blah
Didnt get the front sight post screwed into the exact amount of turns,obviously....

Grouping was the point.
To buy more of the best stuff..
Which I already and confirmed again today
Zero it later on .....
Hit it again in middle of the week in a couple of weeks
Bout 88° and humid as fugg....
Wind was wasnt a factor. Intermitent and light...
This ammo I have never shot before.
Price was right..
But it aint the greatest nor the worst.

This red army standard 124 gr hpbt is rebranded golden tiger 124gr hpbt.
Same line
Same lot runs.

Acceptable accuracy.....
I could pop a dikhead with this out to 300m easy.

I have tested a schitt load of ammo in my rifle.
Wolf 123 gr hp polyformance hp copper coated bimetal has always been the winner.
Monarch 123 gr hp from academy which is laquer coated and the bullet is zinc coated bimetal
Both Barnaul rds
Both same level of accuracy in the rifle.

I need more wolf......
Period....
1 buck cheaper a box than the monarch brand at academy.
Which equals 50 bucks less per 1k.

Feild strip at range.
Hose down with a combo of hoppes 9 and lucas gun oil.
Let it start working.
Assemble

Soak for 40 min drive home
Clean about 90 minute mark

Detail break down and clean at house after feeding the dogs.
Reassemble

Search ammo sites now for wolf 123gr hp polyformance.

Someday you ought to stuff some of these on top of an appropriate charge of H322 and watch how tight that AK will shoot.

I would like too Bristoe.
The wolf is cost effective.
Someday I might outfit the gun with a multi mount receiver base that replaces the trigger and hammer pin with no need for a shepards hook, made by some outfit in texas. IIRC.
Get a skeleton rail
Get a primary arms 2 x scope.

Robski on his you tube channel uses the set up.
RTZ is flawless and he has thrown that rig on rifles loaded one in the tube and 29 in the mag into his swamp for 3 days which is one of the parts of his 5k rd testing.
The 3 day in da swamp 30 rd mag dump test. LOL!!!
Primary arms 2x scope undamaged for rest of 5 k test.

Scope this gun eventually, pretty sure group size would shrink by at least 1/3rd...
When the eyesight starts to turn to crap......

Glad their are you tube guys torture testing guns, so the rest of us know schitt about em.

I aint filling up my wpns or magazines with sand , mud , gravel drop testing em, ice testing em
Running em over with suburbans.
Running em dry for extended periods.
Accuracy testing .
Load evaluations.
Ect ect ect

LOL!!!

Thats other dudes jobs to present to us consumers.

This is where I've chosen to put the lion's share of my 7.62x39 ammo money.

IMHO:

Where the sun, moon and stars converge for me. Price, Accuracy/Dependability, Velocity.

If you're pushing 2375, you're basically at top velocity performance for inexpensive factory ammo, anyway. To trade up from there will cost you 2-3 times what you can stockpile the Wolf for.

I've put back a stack of it.

LD,
It makes Geno feel better about not handling his “honey do chores” by fingering everyone else for slacking.

He does have a keen eye for those of us who procrastinate. Grins

I wasn't trying to be critical of your groups,...just mentioning that I found that my old SKS tightened up considerably with .311 diameter, 150 grain bullets and H322.

I suspect that the reason is the longer bearing surface of the 150 grain bullets and starting them out gently with slower burning powder than is usually found in 7.62X39 ammo.

Also, I've found that a lot of metric .30 caliber military bullets are fairly undersized and the groove diameter on metric .30 caliber military rifles are oversize.

Get that stuff dialed in by handloading and things tighten up considerably.

It might not be something you want to get too involved in. But it might be worth working out in order to put some ammo away for "special" occasions.

Its good stuff.

Wanna try the brown bear 123gr hp poly coated case.
Barnual ammo.
Bet it is the same exact line run as the wolf.

The wolf standard deviation is under 13 fps
The brown bear is like under 12

Some 7.62x39 SD is in the 30,s and 40,s
^^^^^^^^^^^
Tula anything 6 to 8 moa crap, except for "their" 8m3 vympel factory contracted out rd.
