I've used the leather lace on pads on several rifles over the years. Still have them on a couple. I think mine were made by Galco, but I'm not sure. In any event, they work fine and make no permanent changes to the rifle, should it have potential collectors value (not that mine do).

I've used Goda Grip cheek pads and find them great for the money. Easy to install and cheap. If memory serves they were less than $20 each.
