I had blotches like that before and it just went away. It was a pigment thing and as some said, it seemed worse after being in the sun frequently. It kinda looked like the opposite of a heat rash. With that said, can't hurt to have someone check it out.

I've had that before myself, Selsun Blue will help. A doctor will prescribed a tan cream Selsun ointment that you rub on every day.

don't think so have used meds for fungus, didn't do anything.

This is what I had and it took a concentrated topical to go away and it took like 6 weeks to disappear completely. The medicine fixes it in days but the discoloration takes quite a while to go away.

I developed vitiligo about thirteen years ago.I spent most of my life working outdoors in the sun around the water with reflective sun rays.I used to tan well and didn't mind the sun,but I also received a lot of bad sunburns when I was younger. When I developed the vitiligo,I noticed I didn't tan anymore like I once did.The areas that turned white, would just turn pink with sun exposure and even whiter later. What I found too was sunscreen isn't that great in protecting your skin if you have vitiligo. If you do use it,I found the sunscreen for babies was the best.I quit using sunscreen,I now just cover if I'm going to be in the sun for extended periods of time.Wide brim hat, long sleeves, fingerless fishing gloves and one of the tube face covers. The less sun exposure the white areas get,the darker they remain.

Roger, if it is indeed vitiligo, there is a higher incidence of developing NTG (Normal Tension Glaucoma).

That type of glaucoma is more difficult to detect and may progress to significant optic nerve damage and even vision loss before detection because it is not characterized by elevated intraocular pressure and progressive nerve fiber loss is requires critical evaluation of the several features of the optic nerve with the idea of picking up subtile changes in the nerves rim tissue and optic cup size and shape.

If I had vitiligo I would want annual laser optic nerve scans compared to look for early NFL (Nerve Fiber Loss).
