Coues deer are a poor man's sheep hunt, usually in tougher type terrain. First 15ish deer I killed were carp, next 15ish were coues. I'm back to waiting for 3c tag, almost there... As you say even French people wouldn't pronounce it cows. He wasn't an arizonian, he didn't discover them, I'm sure the local tribes hunted them and had a name for them. We call them cooz so that's what they're called, Mexicans may call them something else... and that's what they are called... apaches may call them something else and that's what they are called.
