Ends in 2.5 weeks, supposedly.

Thinking we’ll see some folks going back to work around August time.

i think all that extra Do-Nothing money has supplied rioters with resources to be able to be out on the street being horse’s asses.

Pinch off that cash flow and these white punk antifa 20s something’s will have get back to a worky job.

Or they will totally finish destroying the cities, and start the movement to the rural areas...

To some folks "work" is just another four letter word. Besides; in some municipalities you can just loot with impunity these days, or so it seems. Why work?

Ironically some of the hardest working people are in oil and gas. Between the price war between Russia and Saudi, and the huge drop in demand due to CV19, they are out of work.

Most of them are hardcore conservatives too. So not everyone getting the help is a skinny jean wearing antifa member.

This. It’s a tough time for those who make their living in the oil and gas industry, like I do.

There’s no doubt that times are tight for many folks out there and the 600$/week was and still is greatly needed and appreciated.

Scammers and bums will tap any and all available resources.

But it has always been tough in the oil field.

And most of the misery has been done by the hands themselves.

After having worked and living here for over 40 years,it seems that they always spend their money as fast as they can when they have it.

Then when the lean times come they are crying because they are broke.

It has happened since they drilled the first hole in the Denver unit and it won't stop.

There have been some that have learned that hard lesson and they have put some back for that rainy day.

Talking to them about it you can hear how proud they are because they finally got it.

Most commodity based businesses are of the boom/bust types.

The old bumper sticker:

“L*rd let there be another oil boom. I promise not to piss it away next time “

Off topic, but the Grammar Cop in me has to ask: When did this erroneous habit begin of placing the dollar sign after the numerals?

On any Boom scenario you’ve got to get there before the whores and gamblers arrive and leave it before they start to depart.

I'm working for a unemployment department for a midwest state that will remain un-named (contractor), but as an "insider" I wouldn't bet on the $600 going away this month. Now they may throw a "bonus" out there for people to go back to work, but the $600 kicker will remain.

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

Well Mrs Manners’ , We’re all glad that this is itching your sphincter

When a grown ass man says 600 dollars in a conversation he says “600 dollars” he doesn’t say “Yo, Darrell, how bout dollar sign 600 for that old 440 Chrysler block?”

If Toot wants to type it like that, that’s his preference. I do it like that as well.

I haven’t broken out the Harbrace college handbook to follow up, I’m sure there is an appropriate convention on it. I would be just warm and tickled pink for a link showing us all that you’re correct in your assumptions, ya know you being a writer and such.

Hopefully you fret more over the rule of law and order being ignored today in society instead of someone else’s jots and tittles on a web chat.

That's just the federal government's kicker. They're also getting state funds along with it.
