So I was going to get a new cell hone from Amazon for 675. If you applied for an amazon credit card it is 60 bucks off. So I figure 60 bucks is worth filling out a form. It is only a few questions, then they give you the rate. 26% interest????? I pay everything off that month, and we have zero debt, but I would never sign up for 26%. That is criminal.

If you pay the balance monthly what does it matter what the rate is?

The credit card company makes money on every sale. Why would I support this type of organization? Predatory lenders should be boycotted.

It’s plain and simple, the interest on unpaid balance is 26%, if you pay in full every month, it’s not an issue. Even if you do pay every month, and don’t like what they charge others, move on and find a card that you “like.”

My Discount Tire CC using Synch Bank

-0- % interest until paid in full.....currently have a balance w/0 interest

My Amazon CC is through Chase Bank.....sweeter deal yet....for instance

I have a $228 gas heater on my list.....I can buy for $28/month/0 interest for 6 months

Or...buy on the card & receive 5% back next billing cycle....then pay statement in full when due

I'm on to those fuggers..... grin

Fair enough. What is the predatory threshold? 4%? 12%? 20%?

Can't believe they aren't in the credit game pro bono.

not complete thieves.
keep in mind defaults and losses due to forged charges etc.
i don't like those rates either, and don't carry balances month to month they are paid off.
but when the government changes the tax deductibility of interest on loands forcing a lot of home equity loans, that defaulted, the banks
got wise.
chase with their points system has bought me a few firearms with the rebates.

Use your $60 discount to pay the interest. Those are easy to qualify for. Therefore they likely have a high loss rate. If you put yourself into a group like that by getting a unsecured credit card from them and then you buy crap you cant afford to pay for in a month then you pay the cost of all their losses. No free lunch in America. Someone has to pay.

Believing in 0% interest is like believing in Santa clause. No such thing

You don’t think they have the interest baked into their pricing ?

Good luck finding a card that's any different.
