i have a 260AI with a 21" barrel . i know its not optimal length , and i cant stretch it ! anybody have any good load data ? i have a slew of various powders ,so i can try a few different things . would like to stick with ramshot powder , but hunter doesn't give me very good velocity . switch to tac maybe ? any ideas ?

Steve Timm, AKA "Dogzapper" on this site, wrote an article on the 260AI in Varmint Hunter magazine in 2001. I have a photocopy of the article, but I don't know what issue it appeared in.

Steve provided data for 9 loads and if you want that data, I can PM it to you. A lot has changed in the reloading world since 2001, but it would be a place to start.

Mine has a 22 inch barrel and I wouldn’t want it any longer, I can give you some data using 2350 and 4831 if you are interested

The 260 AI is not in Quickload, so I can't help you there.

I have 2, 260 AI's. I shoot RL 17 with 123 grain Lapua and 123 SST / AMAX at 3095 and 3090. One is 21" the other is 22"

My throat is very short so there’s a good chance you can go up a bit

Just use 260 and adjust powder capacity accordingly

thanks Castle Rock ! think i'm right at 45 grains of 4350 with a 140 . we'll see where accuracy is shortly !
