I doubt you will see Remington go away. Bankruptcy doesnt necessarily mean that a company is not going to be in business. Like them or not Remington is a well established brand and worth something to someone. The Bankruptcy Trustee is in charge of getting creditors paid back to the extent they can be or not . If that means selling (liqiudating) the company assets then that will happen. I havent read up on the bankruptcy so I dont know what route they are taking. If they are reorganizing or being liquidated.

Yes, it'll depend on who buys what pieces and why... I was mostly just hoping Remington ammo was *already* separately held (like Winchester arms vs. Winchester ammo) so production runs wouldn't be interrupted. But I'm guessing if that was the case, someone would've said so by now. I think the biggest question on the firearm side is what happens to Marlin brand... hard for QC to get worse... but I could also see it being shuttered for a while.

There were some posts to the effect that the Navajo Indians were going to buy Remington.

Don't blame me. I voted for Trump.

Exactly what I was going to post.

.25-20 brass and the 86 grain flat nose soft points to load in them was my first thought also.

Agreed, I had a 7600 pump and 700 that shot those winchester black coated 150 grain '06 rounds EXTREMELY accurately. Had 4 boxes and smacked a pile of deer with them. Didnt know they were discontinued and wasted a bunch trying to trying to sight in a new rifle that turned out to have a phugged up scope on it. Used my last cartridge in about 2004 on a deer and still havent found a factory round that shoots as well outta that 7600! Really hoping federal dont discontinue the Fusions in the the various calibers I shoot them in, primarily the 140s in 7-08 as they shoot damn well in mostly all rifles ive tried them in and just plain kill scheit!

At one point they changed the black coating on the ot6 rounds
Noticeable change in grouping, nothing exteemely drastic.
Original ones had almost a semi gloss black color and hard coating.

Then it turned to greyish black chalk like coating that could be marred with a thumb nail.
Residue shavings and powder from it around the necks of the case from seating em.

Called Olin in Alton Illinois several times.
Got an actual design guy after talking to "techs"
He said they did indeed after change the coating.
I made it a point for several yrs after that to look for older lot #,s with the hard black coating on the bullets.
When I ran into that case of 200 like that I snagged em up fast.

Ammo manufacturers are infamous for putting out quality,
getting people hooked on x type and then scrimping on em for profit fown the line after a well known rep had been attained.

Turkey shells espeically.
I have done pellet counts and total weights on the components.
Buffering, wads , pellet.
Huge differences in the original released one,s for the 1st 2 or 3 yrs.
Then bam....
Big payload shortages with the we gotcha scrimping game.
When ya start seeing pellet counts dropping 25 to 50 in 10" at 40yds
Something is up.
Alot of guys atrribute it too choke being " shot out" , bad shot, wind, temp or just dont confirm their pattern yearly and dont notice.

When ya got just say for instance.
525 # 6 pellets in a turkey load that weighs 2.25 oz minus the buffer
And then check a later run shell and its got 465 and 1.95 oz weight
And totals 2.25 with buffer.

The gig is up too me.
Time ta find another shell.
Seriously considering Loading TSS.

I have known many hunters that have had their favorite commercial load just simply quit shooting accurately as it always had. I'm not the only shooter that has seen favorite bullets taken off the market for seemingly no reason. Due to the unreliability of manufacturers to support themselves I opted to go with the projectiles that appeared to continue availability & then "lay in a lifetime supply" as BobinNH always said.

Thus, my choices were Nosler Accubonds & Lapua 155 Scenar's. I definitely have a lifetime supply for my requirements. I also have CoreLokt's & Interlocks when I can find them.

My foremost passion in material pursuits is Reloading. My shooting irons will always be happy.

You get a good box of commercial ammo on paper, get your hind end back down there and buy as much of the lot number on the shelf as you can afford.

My grandma had one named Terror.
I hated that cat when I was a kid 5 or 6 yrs old.
Gave him a good length wise tail straightened job one day .
Siamese cats have kinks in the tail bones sometimes.
Sumbytch sleeping on the porch wall, tail all dangling.
Grab that fugga gave it a huuge down ward running a rope out jerk.
That fugga went vertical about 2 ft up in the air all shocked outta his sleep.

Fugga left me alone after that.
Established the peeking order on him..

I got a thumb and you dont you prick....

I once had the owner of a pawn shop explain that Weaver bases made for a Remington 700 wouldn’t fit if the gun came from Wal-Mart.

I started laughing and asked if they had a separate Wal-Mart assembly lines in the factory.

He said “I don’t know how they do it but they ain’t the same.”

A Texan by the way. Shocking, I know.
