I'm not a big fan of psychs; and some campfire dr please correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is modern medicine still hasn't completely mapped out the brain wiring and chemistry and that the only way to completely study it is an autopsy. That may be a little problematic with living patients

That may be a little problematic with living patients It ain't perfect that's true but it is useful information. Better than going in blind and playing a guessing game. It would require the psychiatrist to work with the neurologist. Getting into some ego issues there.
