Finally got the tzatziki sauce and gyros meat made.

The sauce yesterday. The meat is cooling in the fridge.

Report to follow.

I love a good gyro; haven’t had one in awhile.
How did you make the gyro meat?

Mixed a pound of ground beef and a pound of ground lamb.

Had garlic, rosemary, cumin, cinnamon, salt, pepper and paprika. Chopped onion too.

Probably some other stuff too.

Cooked it in the oven....cooled it down and sliced it. Then I browned it in a skillet.

I really thought it was good.

I'll have to try that. Finding ground lamb might be the hitch.

Jim Conrad, Montana Renaissance Man.

Funny we had gyros again tonight as well but with seasoned beef.

Cucumber, purple onion, tomato and feta as toppings. Daughter made a killer fresh tzatziki sauce.

I add a little Yucateco chipotle hot sauce to mine.

Tonight's supper was home fried chicken, fried potatoes with onion, garlic and smoky paprika, and fresh peas steamed in butter.

Thank you smile

Crusty, crunchy, juicy, tasty, as my oldest said, and she is the most finicky eater I have ever met. I do believe she snuck a few with her to have for her lunch today grin

I forgot a picture, but, it looked good. Tasted better than anything so simple should have.

Meatballs from Winco Italian sausage, about 1"- browned. Sauce from a can, Hunts Roasted Garlic and Onion. A sprinkling of Italian spices from a grinder and dried veggy flakes. Wide/thick Safeway Select spaghetti noodles. Sombiotch it was good. Wowzers. I got points tonight.
