The drug dealers I saw when I lived in a major city and passed by a local park filled with users and illegals always called me guero (pronounced who-AIR-oh). One day I got one of them to explain that it meant "whitey". The ones on various construction sights always called me gringo. Guero AKA Huero does not mean white people. It's specific to lightly complected white people. Typically red or blond haired whites. It's the equivalent of a black person calling you a "pasty ass lookin' mothafugkah."

Yeah, the longer version I got from the guy was basically that, like calling me a "cracka". A derisive name, but only for whites, and only for outsiders.
