You are comparing a number one to a number two; there is more difference than just the 2 inches at the muzzle. I get that, the #s are for "ballpark +/-" reference.

I usually figure an ounce per inch in the smaller contours near the muzzle - and am happy when it’s less. 😊 Poster “offshoreman” has assembled an extensive spreadsheet which compares measurements and weights of most of the sporting contours from the different makers - perhaps he will chime into this thread.

Very hard to argue against the Defiance AnTi. Sheeesh just under 21 oz for the XM? Virtually the same weight as a NULA Model 20. Does anyone make XM? mags and bottom metal?

They offer a mag box/bottom metal that allows a 3.2 OAL. I'm going to give one of the long actions a try for a 280AI. I'm looking forward to it.

FYI, Manners says they are coming out with a long action version of their UC stock in a few months. A Pierce long action Ti at 16 oz. and the Manners UC stock at 17-18 oz. and a Bartlein no. 2 contour fluted could give a guy a 4.5-5 lb long-actioned rifle which would be impressive.
I hope this is true, would love one for a 270 I have.
If you died tomorrow, what would you have done today ...

A #1 Douglas @ 22" and .560" @ the muzzle weighs approx 2.25 LBS . Add 2" and you gain 8 ozs , +/-. I have a .270 stub 2.275" long and .560 at the muzzle. It weighs but 1.9 oz.

Tarquin, Disregard what I had said about the possibility of the fieldcraft box being a tight fit in the manners UC. I just measured mine again and checked with a fieldcraft box – you will be fine. I had assumed my UC was cut for a standard Remington box as I had not specified otherwise – turns out when measured it's actually cut for a wyatts. You will be fine.

Thank you. Are you going to fit your Fieldcraft into the Manners UC stock? I don't have my Barrett in hand yet. Is there a lot of play between the Fieldcraft action and the Manners UC stock? I assume there is.

I can check play the next time I have a fieldcraft out of the stock, but it should be the same as any sa m700 inlet.

Aren't you going a pretty long way to ... make a Fieldcraft?
