I'm curious if urea or fescue toxicosis got his tail switch. Something else.

Define lame, foot or eye?

Would take a cowman to ask about Fescue ergot poisoning, recognizing some of the effects, and asking about lameness, eye or foot...

City slickers won't know what you're talking about...

The situation calls for a dog or two and a good horse! At least a dog, I'd be damned careful getting that close to our bulls on a 4 wheeler.

Hmmmm- - - - -looks like a few thousand quarter pounders there! When our neighbor's bull started breaking down the fence and visiting the neighbors' cows, she started calling him "Bull-loney". "If he tears up one more fence, he's gonna be baloney!" He did- - - - -and he was! She hauled him off to the sale barn and bought a different bull!

To AI, instead of catching 1 bull, you have to catch a couple dozen cows.
I haven't messed with AI in many years. Is it still the rule that you can't register AI calves?

AI'ing is more labor intensive, but you rid yourself of an unpredictable and potentially deadly animal from being in close proximity to yourself and your family.

Don't matter what he cost he needs culling especially if the sore foot is on the rear end.

I don't see it that way at all. Cows are more difficult to avoid. Bulls are easier to avoid, cows will not run past they will turn with you
