Picked up my new bbl. Little heavier contour
Also got anothrr scope coming., Redfield Revenge 3-9x. If duplex itll go on another rifle, if accurange, throw it on this one.

Need to find some decent 55gr ball to try
At 25 yards, the ammo is not likely to be the problem. I use a lot of PMC Gold 55 gr ammo for initial sight & banging, &, taken on the whole, it's generally not bad, pretty consistent 2" or so at 100 yards. (The best 55 gr ball I have is IMI 5.56 stuff) At 25 yards, something is badly wrong as you should be easily able to shoot under an inch or so. Anything Anderson, other than lowers, is not worth wasting time on, but even so, at 25 yards, I bet on scope & mount issue....................but who knows w/o more testing. MM

Got a new M4 socom profile bbl to try. The mount is a Leupold Mark AR. Seems beefy enough and well done.
The scope was a brand new Freedom VX.
I have a known good scope I can swap in.

I’ve been looking for a low powered variable scope with a 1 inch tube (Ruger rings) but it seems most everything is 30mm these days. Leupold?

Think the new Freedom VX model is 1.5-4x. Previous non Freedom model (vx2 ? ) may have been 1-4x. They seem a bit pricey on the used market

Friends, don't let friends buy Anderson. Funny that you mentioned that. I work with a guy that has one. He had to have the barrel nut or some chit tightened up. The rifle rattled.

The great thing about buying an Anderson, is that buy the time you get it reliably function and shoot well you will know how to change every part on an AR except the lower receiver.

Mine runs fine, throws empties where it should. Only issue is accuracy.
Might be barrel, might be scope.

Might be barrel, might be scope. Take the scope off and shoot it with irons.

Thought I'd mention it, had an 8x36 non-ao, set for 300 from factory, shot the same sized groups at 50 and 100......
Good luck with it.

Figure going 5 shot groups at 100 w scope cranked to 9x itd proly be a 1.5 inch rig.
Good enough for riots LOL
Wonder how much each helped....the trigger spring change, the bbl retorque and just knocking the newness out if it.
Oh and the wiggly buttstock got changed
