You saying you're not in the market to buy the Primary Arms scope somebody convinced me to buy a few weeks ago?

China is not a major importer of vehicles into the U.S. A few Volvo's and not much else.

My Car's an trucks and made in the U.S/Canada/Mexico system. Plenty of appliances still made in America. Cell phone in this house, T.V's, Taiwan ( a pseudo U.S. protectorate), or South Korea, Cell Phones, South Korea or U.S.A.

Weaning off the cheap-goods teat is going to take some time. With all the online ordering being done, it's simply not always possible to know the country of origin either. If you find an "American" product you like, but it's outsourced to China or another other hostile country, I suggest you contact the seller, tell them which of their products you were going to buy, and what you bought instead because theirs was Fabrique En Chine.

It's not the vehicle per se, it's the parts content. IIRC, vehicles made in the US have a fair amount of China-sourced parts. Maybe the highest, compared to Japanese, Korean, and European makes.

This can change, as suppliers move their production globally.

This issue is old and lost. But when I go into surgery (or the specialist's or the dentist) and the room is filled with Chinese machines, I feel, well ... the same.

Ever wonder what a Chinese Scope Factory looks like? How many hours and days they work? How many years experience each worker has?

This is not a "no Fing Chinese products" thread. It's a for phucqk's sake look elsewhere first thread. Fugging Burris' new line, cork soakers. Fugging Burris signatures, well if you really really need the moa, it might be the only way. But, why not support the awesome US mount makers first. Why can't Burris forgoe some cash and go America first? It's China this China that on this optics forum. Phucqk'em. Surely it's attractive to retailers though.

The Chinese have advanced tech (which we probably sold them or allowed them to steal). I doubt that their optics factories are much different from, say, Leupold's. To hear many on the fire speak it would sound like they have child labor pounding away for hours and hours beating scope tubes out on a rock with a hammer. The Chinese are capable of producing very good tech but are also into mass producing that tech to price points as well. Their labor costs are much lower than in the US but there is a different work ethic at work there also, not to mention strict government controls. When I buy a Burris (Phillipines) FF II scope which will likely give me decades of use, I know that it is not a NF or Swarovski but I can afford to buy a FF II. What would that FFII cost to produce in America? Would I be able to afford it?
