Where is your job that's became the bum's bedroom?
I say Roman candles instead of a bottle rocket, I'm a risk taker.
North end of town. They've spray painted every building on the block. Must be 100 living and begging around downtown.
Where in the heck is this going on?
I will speculate that he is in Harrisonburg Virginia, but the same thing is happening all over the place in Virginia... and I assume most other Democratic Urban Nirvana cities

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.
Regardless of this individuals reason for being indigent and without a place to sleep, the lack of empathy around here is disturbing. I have lived with the poor, homeless, on the streets of more than one city in this country. It was a sort of mission of mine many years ago . I lived with these troubled individuals and for many it was a way of life, for others, drugs, alcohol, mental illness kept them in the bottom of the cesspool. Some of you need a good long look in the mirror!
We didn't have this problem 30 years ago. What happened?
In Los Angeles they ruled the police couldn't take personal posessions of homeless away even if they were littered on the streets and then they ruled living in cars was legal (meaning no housing requirement)
this resulted in the tent cities lining the streets of Los Angeles and the police unable to do anything about it.
have you paid your dues, can you moan the blues, can you bend them guitar strings
Few years back I was talking to one of them homeless "vets" and he couldn't really answer questions about his service. Then I walked away when he couldn't tell me what his M.O.S. was. He said he forgot. GMAFB.
One day this country is going to have to take drug abuse and mental illness a bit more serious , because one day push will come to shove and some one is going to pay the price.
For us, we have that thing called winter, it puts the kibosh on even the most hardened of the "camper for life" crowd !

Not all of us have THE LUXURY of being able to be stoned and drunk off of our ass all day every day, I mean I fantasize about it often. don’t get me wrong but I have chose to take on responsibilities.
Drug abuse is not mental illness, it’s a lifestyle choice.
I have been immersed in family with hard core drug problems, one has crashed and burned into a smoking hole in the earth. All his choosing. Wrecked 3-4 dozen cars, burned his parents home down once, spoiled and babied all his life. Rehab 3 times, relapsed 3 tkmes, lost custody of his daughter. Best thing for people like him was getting that final super hot load of fentanyl. Was a decent human, fun to be around even while on his ‘shît’ but he was a waste of oxygen, a strain on the whole rest of bis family, the court system, the people he crashed his cars into, a menace to society.
It has been so much more peaceful since he departed. No more of his scumball friends coming and going, No longer have worry about my kids and dogs getting ran over.
I didn't say I had any sympathy for them, I just said we need to wake the f~ck up , they don't simply go away like most road kill. What the hell ever they do at "rehab" is a joke , the only thing "rehab" seems to do is kill them within the first 48 hours after they are set free !
But when you start drugging your kids so they will sit still at school all day , then don't bitch about them self medicating when they hit middle school !
Some of these replies make me think there are folks here who would beat a litter of puppies to death with a dead child.
I helped a homeless guy once...
Gave him a ride home in my truck and fed him.
Next day the guns and silverware were stolen and I had to sell the truck because I couldn't get the stink out of it.... and both the cat and dog turned up pregnant.
I encourage other you to take in a few Uncle Alvin and assist with their recovery.

There's an old saying "That which does not kill you will surely make you stronger."
Some people die and some people get stronger when they figure out their own schiet.

Living in a major metropolitan area, we get a lot of exposure to homeless folk. I will admit there are folks that are lazy and addicted. Many are not.
Some are just between jobs. Some have had a downturn of luck and mean to get back in the game.
Some are just flat-out nuts. The reason they're out on the street is because they are too nuts to hold a job, and too nuts to live with family. They just have no where else to go. Back in 1980, right at Christmas, the governor closed all the state asylums and they just loaded the patients on buses and took them downtown and let them loose.
I ran into one guy recently that I knew in a remote way. He's dead-sane. He was an engineer until he got laid off. Shortly thereafter, he fell down the stairs and broke bones. He woke up in a hospital and after a while, they put him in a home. His wife divorced him and sold all his stuff. She then cut off the funds to the nursing home. He eventually got thrown out of the home, but didn't have anywhere to go. I helped him find a lawyer. He's battling his way back, but it's a slow go. Nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. I knew him years ago. He'd have made a good addition to this place.
