They usually go around $800-$1100 depending on the area of the country IMO... A buddy just bought one last fall in 22 Hornet and he paid right at $1000 for his in excellent condition. Story has it these were made at the end of the run for the 82's and they used the laminated stocks because they were cheaper to buy/produce and finish and the stainless barrels didn't need to be blued... however, every one I have talked to who has had one says they are very accurate...

Your kimber should be a K22 not 82. Kimber never made a 17 M2 in model 82. I'd say value is $800 to 1300 depending on condition. If you had box and all paper work with extra mags maybe even a little more. I'm assuming you have grey lamintated stock, fluted stainless barrel with blackened flutes, and Winchester model 70 style safety?

Remington Classic: I bought a similar (maybe exactly the same?) Rifle back in 2,013. I paid $850.00 for the Rifle in absolute mint condition AND it came with a wonderful Leupold 6.5x20 "EFR" scope AND a carton of Hornady factory ammo.
That was in 2,013 dollars - maybe $1,1100.00 now?
Anyway I checked my online and hard copies of my inventories and my Kimber in 17 Mach2 is listed model wise as "Kimber 17 SVT (Silhouette, Varmint, Target?) and has a radical drop at the front of the cheek piece for the hand to grip. I will double check this model designation for you today but I am certain nowhere on my Kimber does it say Model 82.
Maybe I have a different model but it is from the same era I am sure.
These later era of rimfire Rifle production by Kimber in this caliber are rather rare - I am not certain how much if any that adds to the price.
Now for something I am sure about - this Rifle is amazingly accurate and I will provide a link from my 2,013 posting regarding my acquisition of this Rifle and its first range trip!
I have been SO very happy with this Kimber Rifle that I urge you to acquire it - or give me the contact info.
And if you get this far are you BUYING or selling???

Good luck what ever you are doing (buying or selling).

Remington classic: Yes my Rifle is clearly marked on the action "Kimber 17" and on the barrel "Kimber 17 Mach2 SVT".
No marking of 82 or 22 anywhere on this Rifle - the serial number is KA144xx.
Hope this helps.
Kind of hard to ascertain value without an absolute clarification of the model number/name.
Once I get that verified I will do some checking of my own - only know ONE serious Kimber collector and don't want to call him "soundin like a foo"!

"Kimber 17" has same action as the K22 which is 22 long rifle version. These were made by Kimber of America, not Kimber of Oregon which made the 82 action. Their are some Kimber of America 82C rimfires that were made from left over Kimber of Oregon parts, but none were made in 17 mach 2. Kimber stopped making rimfires in 2007. I've seen pro varmints in 22 LR and 17 Mach 2 sell for $850 to $1300 in last 5 years. At $850 they do not last long.

Remington classic: I hated to do it but I went to my latest version of the Blue Book Of Gun Values (39th Edition - these are so expensive I only buy them every other year or so).
They list the Kimber "Classic" Pro Varmint in 95% condition at $760.00 PLUS $46.00 for being in 17 Mach2 caliber. So $806.00 as of a couple years ago and add in enhanced dollars for more desirability now and inflation I would surmise the value of this Rifle to be in the $900.00 range.
Remember how likely this Rifle is to being rather accurate!
And remember (if you did not know?) that Kimber 5 shot Rifle magazines are hard to come by (i.e. expensive!).
I have a bunch of these magazines (some still in the bubble packs) and feel thankful now that I "collected" all of them way back when.

VarmintGuy for all your much needed information I'm Thankful,I have 6 Mach 2s in different configurations,That are excellent shooters,But the Kimber would be the most expensive one but not by much though,But at $1350.00 it seemed a bit over priced with a $200.00 dollar scope atop of it,Thanks again

The Kimber 82 “A” and “B” actions were Kimber of Oregon.
The 82 “C” action was Kimber of America.
The third and current Kimber company is Kimber Manufacturing. The current company is who made the k22 and k17.
Some of the recent sold prices for the k17 pro varmints have been high. Watched one fetch over 2k last fall. A week later my buddy got $1650 for his.....

I'm interested in how quality rifles like these shoot with current ammo, not squirreled-away Eley stuff. I bought one of the Whittakers Ruger American specials and had unexplained flyers with three of the four (?) currently available choices. Never was able to try the fourth. The rifle itself was fine, if not very "nice".

There is a new in the box Kimber 17 Mach 2 on Gun Broker right now, I bid up to $1100.00 on it but its not enough. Beautiful rifle but that is my limit. I might have to bid on a Remington instead.
