So I am looking at some of the new PCPs on the market and I am thinking this airgun thing looks pretty cool and would like to set one up to take coyotes and other stuff like rabbits and squirrels. Im thinking .25 cal with a moderator to keep things quiet (DonnieFL) I love the idea of being able to shoot silently. Does anyone have something set up for coyotes? I see all sorts of different things on the interwebs but i kinda like the Umerex gauntlet and the Air Venturi Avenger but honestly by the time you put a scope on them and get a pump they can be 700 or more. If im going to spend that kind of cheese why not get an FX or something nicer? Or maybe go the other way and get a Diana Stormrider or something less expensive??
Anyhow I like the idea of using hybrid slugs as they can be a bit heavier and seem to be accurate but it seems that not all guns can shoot them well, I understand it has to do with how the barrel is choked.
Can anyone make sense of all this stuff and maybe give some advice??

Ultimately you will have to suit yourself. But I saved a long time and bought an Impact. Recycled oats are cheaper. A good scope had to be saved for as well. Get Millrad and Millrad. That is get the scope adjustments same as the marks on the reticle. It won't help to figure out the range then have a different adjustment on the scope than the reticle. Then use your rangefinder to tell precise ranges and with a range card you can play sniper. You need the precision with an airgun. It is like 0 to 200 yards with the airgun can be compared to long range with the centerfire. Range, wind, and elevation all have their effects on the shot. A pigeon on a power line at 200 yards is quite an accomplishment at that point. And sort of edible. Good luck and Be Well, Packy.
